Global rating magazine TripAdvisor released the results of its recent survey, which highlighted once again, the beauty of the Philippines’ top island destination, Boracay.
The Top 10 Islands in Asia 2014 survey of international travellers revealed that Boracay, the Visayan island famous for its four-kilometre white-sand beaches appeals to many tourists. Ranking the island on the sixth spot, TripAdvisor described Boracay as small, but with plenty of surprises.
“Yapak Beach is known for beautiful white shells; White Beach has picture-perfect sunsets; and Balinghai Beach is a secluded spot, perfect for honeymooners,” said the magazine on its website. It added that visitors to the island must visit during the dry, summer season in order to discover the full offerings of the world-class destination.
This award is one of the many that Boracay island has received from the travel-rating site.
In its global list of best beaches in 2011, Boracay ranked second, while the high-class White Beach topped the authority’s list of Top 25 Beaches in Asia in 2013. This famous island in the province of Aklan is also a recipient of awards from various travel-rating authorities.
TripAdvisor’s list was dominated by Thailand, which has five of its islands rostered, with Ko Tao in Surat Thani topping the list. Langkawi in Malaysia and Bali in Indonesia also made it into the top ten.
