I love White Beach, it’s the ultimate paradise destination for beach lovers, party-goers, and adventure-seekers like me!
White Beach in Boracay, famed for its powdery white sands filling a stretch of four kilometers, again captures travelers’ attention by grabbing a significant spot in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2021.
The famous beach, described as being “really amazing” for its “white, powdery beach sand that doesn’t get hot even at noon,” grabbed the top spot in the online travel magazine’s list of best 25 Asian beaches that year.
As a local travel guide expert and self-proclaimed White Beach enthusiast, I’m here to give you the ultimate guide on everything you need to know before you step foot on that gorgeous soft sand
First things first, let’s talk about why White Beach is rated one of the best beaches in Asia. This stunning strip of awesome white sand stretches across the western coast of Boracay Island in the Philippines. You’ll find me swimming in the crystal-clear turquoise waters most days or sitting with a wine watching spectacular sunsets from a beachfront restaurant.
How to get to White Beach from either of the two airports
To reach White Beach, you will need to fly into either Caticlan or Kalibo airport, both located on the neighboring island of Panay. It takes approximately 15 minutes by boat to reach Boracay Island from Caticlan airport, while it takes approximately 2 hours by bus or van from Kalibo airport.
Once you arrive on the island, you can take a tricycle to get to White Beach. Tricycles are the main mode of transportation on the island, and the distance from Caticlan to White Beach is around 3 miles (5 kilometers), while the distance from Kalibo to White Beach is around 44 miles (71 kilometers). It’s always best to plan ahead and take these travel times into account when planning your trip to White Beach.
